Douhairet Porcheret Volnay 1er cru en champans 2018
NT$3,495
Medium ruby in colour. Aromas is elegant and complex with an array of more red fruits (red cherry, raspberry, redcurrant, cranberry) than black fruits (black cherry, mulberry), mix spices (nutmeg, cardamon and licorice in specific), sun-dried mix herbs (basil, sage, tarragon) with a touch of forest floor, wood smoke and wood toast. Palate is subtle and vibrant with red fruit-like crispy texture. The wine is well-structured with silky tannin and is loaded with red flowers (rose pedal), fresh raspberry, cranberry and redcurrant. Dried plums, forest floor, toast and leather-like savouriness on the finish. This burgundy delicacy is very well-balanced. Located in the heart of Côte de Beaune, Monthelie-Douhairet-Porcheret was established over 300 years ago. This particular wine has only some 4,200 bottles produced a year, using grapes from vines that have an average age of 80 years. En Champans is one of the most famous premier crus in Volnay and has an East/South East exposure with very stony and red-brown soil.
