Few words about this wine

This wine has an intense dark red color with a ruby hue. On the nose we can sample a bouquet of black berries, blue berries and plums, followed by candied violet and smoky notes.

Why I like this wine

It’s opulent, rich and round in the mouth. While letting the wine breathe in the glass we can sense exotic spices and black fruits. Driven by a fresh acidity a powerful body structure and intense tannin, Le Gallet Blanc has a great potential for aging. Please, remember to open and decant 2 hours before tasting.

Why I like this wine

It’s generous and round in the mouth, the wine body has a good structure, elegant tannin and lovely acidity; you can find back the same aromas of black cherry, blackberry, with an interesting note of herbal bitterness and a very long finish.

Winery

François Villard

The estate was created from scratch in 1989, at the instigation of François Villard, who is still at the head of the estate today.
Trained as a cook, François Villard became passionate about wine at the age of 20. Not knowing how to integrate the world of wine, he did a year of Brevet Professionnel in sommellerie at Tain l’Hermitage. These encounters were decisive and gave him the desire to become a winemaker.
Afterwards, he enrolled in Davayé, with a view to obtaining the Brevet Professionnel Agricole, option viticulture and oenology.
At the same time, he began to acquire his first fallow plots of land in the commune of St Michel in the Condrieu Appellation. The first vine was planted in the spring of 1989, as soon as he obtained his patent. The first Condrieu was produced in 1991 and the first 400 bottles were put on the market in autumn 1992.
While his first vinifications took place in Verlieu, in a cellar behind Yves Cuilleron’s, he decided to have his own building built in 1996 in St Michel Sur Rhône.
