Medium ruby in color. Aromas is fragrant, floral and is packed with strawberry, sweet red fruits, strawberry patch, sweet cranberry, fresh blueberry, rose pedal, sweet spices (nutmeg), licorice, sweet herbs (basil) and a touch of wood toast & mint leaf. Gentle and approachable on the palate with a lovely notes of red fruit, black berry, white cherry and sweet spices (cinnamon in specific). Tannin is smooth and elegant with a “crunchy” texture. Strawberry compote, candied blueberry, cinnamon stick and a touch of mint on the finish. Coming from one of the ten Beaujolais crus named “Chenas”. It is one of the smallest crus in Beaujolais and the name is derived from “forest of oak tree” that was once covering the surrounding hillside. Chenas wines are among the most powerful (in terms of character) in Beaujolais, and is also known for its distinctive floral notes.
