Estate History
Maison Aegerter, founded in 1988 by Jean-Luc Aegerter and now run by his son Paul, is renowned for crafting elegant, terroir-driven wines from Burgundy’s finest appellations. The **Corton-Vergennes Grand Cru** is one of the estate’s flagship cuvées, produced from one of the rare Grand Cru plots on the Corton hill dedicated to Pinot Noir — a symbol of power, refinement, and aging potential.
Terroir
Located on the slopes of the famous Corton hill, the **Vergennes** climat benefits from limestone-rich, well-drained soils with excellent sun exposure. These conditions allow Pinot Noir to fully express its depth, elegance, and aromatic complexity, while preserving freshness and structure.
Tasting Notes
Deep ruby color with garnet reflections, showing beautiful maturity. The nose is intense and complex, with aromas of candied cherry, black fruits, forest floor, leather, and sweet spices. On the palate, the wine is silky and full-bodied, with refined tannins, vibrant acidity, and a long, elegant finish with notes of truffle, cocoa, and licorice.
A fully mature Corton Grand Cru — powerful and elegant, combining richness, finesse, and great aging potential.
Pairing
Perfect with game meats, grilled ribeye steak, roasted duck breast, or aged cheeses like Époisses or Langres.
