Domaine History

Located in **Montigny-lès-Arsures**, at the heart of the **Arbois AOC** in the Jura region, **Frédéric Lornet** is a renowned winemaker recognized for his commitment to traditional and sustainable viticulture. His wines reflect the unique character of Jura grape varieties and terroirs, with a focus on precision and authenticity. The **Ploussard 2018** is a pure and delicate expression of this emblematic red grape of the Jura.

Terroir

The vineyards are planted on **blue marl and limestone soils**, characteristic of the Jura region. These terroirs, combined with the cool continental climate, promote slow and balanced ripening of the **Ploussard** grape, enhancing its aromatic finesse, light structure, and vibrant freshness.

Winemaking

Grapes are **hand-harvested** and carefully sorted before undergoing traditional vinification. Maceration is gentle to respect the thin-skinned nature of Ploussard and to extract delicate color and fine tannins. Fermentation takes place with native yeasts, followed by aging in **stainless steel vats** to preserve purity and freshness. Minimal intervention is applied to highlight the grape’s natural expression.

Tasting Notes

Light ruby red color with garnet reflections. The nose is **subtle and aromatic**, revealing notes of **red currants, strawberries**, and **cranberries**, with floral hints of **rose petal** and a touch of **white pepper**. On the palate, the wine is **light-bodied, fresh, and silky**, with soft tannins, vibrant acidity, and a clean, mineral-driven finish. The **2018 vintage** offers charm, finesse, and aromatic precision, typical of Jura Ploussard.

A delicate and elegant Jura red—fresh, silky, and aromatic, capturing the pure expression of Ploussard and the terroirs of Arbois.
