In the appellation AOP Vin d’Alsace Pinot noir is the only red grape variety allowed. This Charles Frey Quintessence is made from vines planted in sandy soil, carefully harvested and selected by hand, and then aged in oak barrels for 24 months.

A lustrous deep purple in colour, this wine has a beautiful ripeness, aromas of black fruit (raspberries, blackcurrants) and spices complement each other in a solemn manner in the mouth, surrounded by light smoke aromas. The wine is rich in structure, with good tannin structure and an amazing finish.
