Dense and dark garnet color, tending to purple in its youth.

The bouquet reveals notes of blackcurrant, violet, mocha, vanilla, spices and licorice. The wines of St. Estephe have full-bodied tannins and therefore mature more slowly than most other Medocs. They offer black fruits, a note of freshness, often a woody or smoky aspect and a floral touch.
