Domaine History
Classified as a Fifth Growth in the 1855 Bordeaux classification, Château Lynch-Moussas is located in the heart of the Pauillac appellation. Owned by the Castéja family since the early 20th century, the estate has undergone significant modernization while maintaining its heritage of producing structured and elegant Médoc wines. Combining tradition and precision, Lynch-Moussas consistently delivers wines with balance, depth, and aging potential.
Terroir
The vineyards of Lynch-Moussas are planted on deep gravel soils over a clay subsoil, typical of Pauillac’s great terroirs. This environment provides excellent drainage and optimal conditions for Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, contributing to the wine’s power, structure, and aromatic complexity.
Tasting Notes
Deep ruby red color. The nose is expressive and refined, with aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, cedar, and tobacco leaf. On the palate, the wine is well-structured and elegant, offering firm yet polished tannins, ripe dark fruit, and a long, harmonious finish with hints of spice and graphite.
A classic Pauillac, delivering power, finesse, and beautiful balance — crafted for aging while approachable in its youth, especially in Magnum format for optimal evolution.
Vinification & Aging
Manual harvest with careful selection, vinification in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, followed by aging in French oak barrels (about 50% new oak) for 12 to 18 months. This process enhances the wine’s complexity, texture, and aging potential.
Pairing
Perfect with grilled ribeye, roast lamb, duck confit, or aged cheeses like Comté or Pecorino.
