This is a typical wine from Chorey-lès-Beaune appellation. Light and supple red wine with moderately tannic but rich and characterful.

A village appellation, Chorey-lès-Beaune is at the foot of Côte de Beaune and produces almost exclusively red wines. Les Gourmandes, possibly better thought of as the Gourmets in English, inspire thoughts of a wine-producing area that promises much.

Its robe, dark purple with violet highlights, reveals aromas of red (raspberry, griotte cherry) and black (blackberry) berries, enhanced with notes of licorice and undergrowth.

Well structured, its present and elegant tannins give way to roundness in a solid frame, leaving a fruity feeling on the palate.

It has great potential for aging as well. When older, this wine’s aromas might develop into strawberry jam, gingerbread, animal and leather.
