Estate History

The **Hospices de Beaune**, founded in 1443, is one of Burgundy’s most historic and celebrated charitable wine estates, renowned for its prestigious annual wine auction. The **Pommard “Cuvée Billardet” 2020**, vinified and aged by **Gabriel Ardhuy** and exclusively acquired by **Vavin**, embodies the strength and character of the Pommard terroir, offered here in Magnum format for enhanced aging and complexity.

Terroir

The vines for the **”Cuvée Billardet”** are planted on the clay-limestone slopes of **Pommard**, known for producing structured and robust Pinot Noir. The excellent drainage and ideal exposure of these parcels bring concentration and depth while preserving elegance and freshness.

Tasting Notes

Deep ruby red color. The nose is intense and complex, revealing aromas of black cherry, raspberry, licorice, and hints of violet and spice. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and structured, with firm but refined tannins, bright acidity, and a long, mineral-inflected finish. The Magnum format allows the wine to evolve slowly, enhancing its aromatic depth and aging potential.

A powerful and elegant Pommard — vinified by Gabriel Ardhuy, acquired by Vavin, and presented in Magnum for optimal cellaring and celebratory moments.

Pairing

Ideal with roasted lamb, duck breast with cherries, beef stew, or aged cheeses like Comté and Époisses. A perfect choice for festive meals and long-term aging.
