Domaine History

**Château La Fleur de Boüard** was founded in 1998 by **Hubert de Boüard**, co-owner of Château Angélus in Saint-Émilion. Located in the heart of the **Lalande-de-Pomerol** appellation, the estate has gained a reputation for precision winemaking and terroir expression. By applying techniques similar to those used in the Grands Crus Classés, the château produces elegant, powerful, and well-balanced wines that rival their Pomerol neighbors.

Terroir

The vineyards cover gravel and clay-limestone soils, ideal for Merlot, the dominant variety. Careful vineyard management, including low yields and hand-harvesting, ensures optimal ripeness and concentration, while the natural characteristics of the terroir bring finesse, freshness, and aromatic complexity to the wine.

Winemaking

Harvested by hand with strict sorting, the grapes undergo vinification in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Fermentation is followed by aging in French oak barrels (about 75% new) for 18 to 24 months. These practices promote depth, structure, and refinement, allowing the wine to express its full potential while preserving elegance.

Tasting Notes

The **2005 Château La Fleur de Boüard** presents a deep garnet color. The nose is intense and layered, with aromas of ripe black cherries, plums, and violets, along with hints of sweet spices, cedar, and mocha. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and smooth, with silky tannins, balanced acidity, and flavors of dark fruits, licorice, and subtle oak. The finish is long, elegant, and harmonious, showcasing the superb quality of the 2005 vintage.

A rich, elegant Right Bank Bordeaux—powerful yet refined, with excellent aging potential from one of Lalande-de-Pomerol’s benchmark estates.
