This wine is crafted by Stephan von Neipperg (proprietor of the famous Saint Emilion Premier Grand Cru Classé – Chateau Cannon la Gaffelière). 2014 is a classic but underrated vintage for Bordeaux reds, it is being outshined by the famous 2009, 2010 and 2015. Yet, 2014 is a great value for money vintage and is entering mature stage (ready to drink). Medium to deep ruby in colour. Subtle and elegant on the nose with loads of black fruits, black cherry, blackberry, cassis, blackcurrant, plum, mix spices, nutmeg, cloves, licorice, wood smoke, toast and a hint of mint. Palate is gentle and smooth with red plum, blackberry, cardamon, wood toast, wood smoke and a hint of earthiness. Firm yet supple tannin. Blueberry, mint, leather savouriness and a hint of wood smoke on the finish. This wine is demonstrating beautiful and attractive tertiary aromas from decade of aging. Absolutely adorable.
