Deep ruby in colour. Aromas is concentrated and dense with plenty of black fruits (blackberry, blackcurrant, black cherry), blueberry, red plum, together with lovely notes of mix sweet spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, vanilla bean), licorice, wood toast, cocoa and a hint of mint leaf and red flowers. Palate is generous and is filled with plum-like texture. Lovely notes of black cherry, sweet spices, toast, wood smoke and a touch of cedar wood and leather. Fine grain tannin. Semi-dried blueberry, vanilla bean, sun-dried herbs like savouriness and a drizzle of dried red flowers on the finish. Established in 1836, Companhia das Lezírias is not only one of the major wine producers in Portugal, but also the largest agricultural and forestry holding in the country. Vineyards are planted within forest that has rich biodiversity and closely intertwined with the surrounding ecosystem.
