Domaine History
Established in 2008, Domaine Anne Gros & Jean-Paul Tollot is a collaboration between two esteemed Burgundian winemakers. Their venture in Cazelles, within the Minervois appellation of Languedoc, marries Burgundian finesse with the richness of southern French terroir. The estate emphasizes sustainable viticulture and meticulous winemaking to produce wines of elegance and character.
Terroir
The vineyard spans 2 hectares on clay-limestone soils, situated on the slopes of the Ruisseau de la Vie (“Stream of Life”). Planted in 2008, the vines benefit from a south/southeast orientation, promoting optimal ripening. The grapes are hand-harvested and undergo Burgundian-style vinification, with aging in stainless steel tanks to preserve the wine’s purity.
Tasting Notes
The wine exhibits a deep ruby hue. The nose offers aromas of wildflowers, violets, and light pepper. On the palate, it is tangy and juicy, with round tannins and flavors of summer berries. The finish is refreshing and fruit-driven, showcasing the wine’s elegance and balance.
A crystalline and precise Syrah, perfect for immediate enjoyment, yet possessing the structure to age gracefully over 5 to 7 years.
Pairing
Ideal with roasted meats, grilled lamb or pork, and charcuterie. Its vibrant acidity and supple tannins also complement braised vegetables and hearty Mediterranean dishes.
