Estate History

The **Hospices de Nuits-Saint-Georges**, founded in 1270, is one of the oldest charitable wine estates in Burgundy, producing highly regarded cuvées auctioned each year. The **Gevrey-Chambertin “Les Champs Chenys” Cuvée Irène Noblet 2020**, vinified and aged by **Albert Bichot** and exclusively acquired by **Vavin**, showcases the powerful yet elegant character of this prestigious terroir, offered here in the rare Magnum format to enhance its aging potential.

Terroir

The **”Les Champs Chenys”** vineyard lies near the Grand Crus of Gevrey-Chambertin, planted on well-drained clay-limestone soils. This terroir offers excellent balance between structure and finesse, allowing Pinot Noir to fully express its aromatic complexity and silky texture.

Tasting Notes

Brilliant deep ruby color. The nose is intense and elegant, with aromas of black cherry, raspberry, violet, and subtle notes of spice and undergrowth. On the palate, the wine is structured and refined, offering silky tannins, fresh acidity, and a long, mineral-driven finish. The Magnum format promotes a slow, graceful evolution, enhancing aromatic depth and complexity over time.

A powerful yet elegant Gevrey-Chambertin — vinified by Albert Bichot and acquired by Vavin, presented in Magnum for exceptional aging and special moments.

Pairing

Ideal with roasted lamb, duck breast, venison, or aged cheeses like Époisses and Comté. Perfect for festive meals or long-term cellaring.
