Domaine History

Lua Cheia, meaning “Full Moon” in Portuguese, is a project created by Manuel Dias, Francisco Baptista, and João Silva, driven by their passion for Portugal’s native grape varieties and terroirs. The Nostalgia range pays homage to traditional winemaking methods, offering pure and authentic expressions of each region. This Alvarinho comes from old vines in the Vinho Verde region, showcasing the elegance and aromatic depth of this noble grape.

Terroir

Sourced from old vines in the northern part of Vinho Verde, close to the Spanish border, where granite soils and Atlantic breezes shape the character of the grapes. This unique terroir enhances minerality, freshness, and aromatic complexity, essential for Alvarinho’s vibrant style.

Tasting Notes

Pale yellow color with greenish highlights. The nose is intense and refined, offering aromas of citrus, green apple, peach, and delicate floral notes. Aged on fine lees with bâtonnage, the palate is creamy and well-structured, with crisp acidity, textural richness, and a long, mineral finish.

An elegant, lees-aged Alvarinho from old vines — beautifully balanced between aromatic intensity, freshness, and creamy texture.

Vinification & Aging

Fermentation in stainless steel, followed by aging on fine lees with regular bâtonnage to enhance complexity, mouthfeel, and aromatic expression. This method brings texture and longevity to the wine.

Pairing

Perfect with oysters, clams, sushi, grilled fish, ceviche, or goat cheese.
