Producer Overview

**Marco Barba**, the heart and face of the **Marcobarba** project, hails from Madonna di Lonigo near Vicenza. Collaborating with friends met during his time with Venetian natural winemaker Stefano Menti, Marco initiated a social endeavor focusing on organic and biodynamic farming. The team, known as the “Barbaboyz,” revitalizes small plots of abandoned vineyards in the Berici Hills and Gambellara, producing wines that reflect authenticity and minimal intervention.

Terroir

The vineyards are situated between the white sedimentary terrains of the **Berici Hills** and the dark volcanic soils of **Gambellara** in the Veneto region. These diverse soils, combined with biodynamic farming practices, contribute to the wine’s unique character and mineral backbone.

Winemaking

Grapes are **harvested by hand** and fermented with indigenous yeasts in cement tanks. The wine undergoes **12 months of aging in steel tanks** and is bottled unfiltered with a minimal addition of sulfur. This process ensures the preservation of the wine’s natural flavors and characteristics.

Tasting Notes

Medium-bodied and unoaked, this wine offers **juicy red and dark fruit** aromas on the nose and palate. It features **crunchy red fruit**, **bright acidity**, and a **spicy stemmy note** that adds complexity. The wine’s **mineral backbone** enhances its freshness, making it an extremely drinkable red that pairs well with a variety of foods.

A vibrant and approachable natural red—fresh, juicy, and expressive, crafted with biodynamic practices and minimal intervention.

Pairing

Ideal with grilled vegetables, pasta dishes, pizza, or light tomato-based sauces.
