Estate History

Founded in 1443, the **Hospices de Beaune** is an emblematic charitable wine estate in Burgundy, celebrated worldwide for its prestigious annual wine auction. The **Pommard “Cuvée Billardet”**, vinified by **Maison Gabriel Ardhuy** and exclusively acquired by **Vavin**, comes from selected Premier Cru plots in Pommard. This rare Jeroboam format enhances its aging capacity, offering a superb showcase of the power and elegance of Pommard Pinot Noir.

Terroir

Situated on the clay-limestone slopes of **Pommard**, the vineyards benefit from excellent exposure and drainage, ideal for producing structured and age-worthy Pinot Noir. The terroir lends the wine its signature depth, concentration, and mineral freshness, balanced by finesse and aromatic complexity.

Tasting Notes

Deep ruby red with purple reflections. The nose reveals intense aromas of black cherry, blackberry, violet, and subtle hints of licorice and sweet spices. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and generous, with firm yet silky tannins, vibrant acidity, and a long, elegant, mineral-inflected finish. The large Jeroboam format allows for a slow and graceful evolution over time.

A powerful and elegant Pommard — vinified by Gabriel Ardhuy and acquired by Vavin, presented in an exceptional Jeroboam format for cellaring or grand occasions.

Pairing

Ideal with roasted lamb, duck breast with cherries, beef bourguignon, or aged cheeses like Comté and Époisses. Perfect for festive meals or long-term aging.
