Estate History
Founded by Laurent Vaillé in the early 1990s, Domaine de la Grange des Pères has become a true icon of the Languedoc. With extremely limited production and a philosophy rooted in respect for terroir and precise winemaking, the estate’s wines have achieved cult status for their depth, balance, and aging capacity.
Terroir
Situated in the Hérault Valley, the vineyards are planted on rocky limestone scree and clay-limestone soils. The Mediterranean climate, combined with altitude and careful vineyard management, allows slow and balanced ripening, resulting in wines of great power and finesse.
Tasting Notes
Deep garnet color with brick reflections from aging. The nose is mature and complex, offering aromas of black cherry, dried fig, leather, garrigue herbs, tobacco, and sweet spices. On the palate, the wine is silky and well-structured, with softened tannins, evolved fruit, and a long, elegant, spicy finish.
A superb mature vintage from Grange des Pères — powerful yet refined, showing beautiful evolution and balance after more than two decades of aging.
Pairing
Perfect with venison, duck breast with figs, roasted lamb, or aged cheeses like Comté and Tomme de Savoie.
