Château Bouissel Fronton Pinot St George 2016

Fronton is one of the most iconic sub-region in Sud-Ouest, and is popular for its quality red wines made with a local grape variety named Negrette (iconic for its red flowers and savoury characters).“Pinot Saint Georges”is the cuvee using 100% Negrette in Chateau Bouissel, as oppose to“Chemin Faisan”where Negrette is blended with Syrah and Malbec. Medium ruby in colour with garnet hue. Nose is bright and is filled with fresh red fruits (particular cranberry, red currant, and red berry), mix fresh herbs, basil, sage, tarragon, green grass, mint, white pepper, red flowers, hint of leather and beetle nut. Fairly light bodied, palate is fresh, crispy and is packed with juicy cranberry, red currant, sour cherry, wet leaf, slightly earthy and savory. Tannin is silky and smooth. Leather, earthy, mix spice and forest floor on the finish. This wine is a classic example of Negrette.
