Estate History

Maison Le Nid is a family-run estate in the heart of Beaujolais, committed to showcasing the finest terroirs of Moulin-à-Vent. With careful vineyard management and a philosophy of minimal intervention, the estate crafts elegant, terroir-driven wines that reflect the identity of each climat.

Terroir

La Rochelle is one of the most renowned climats of Moulin-à-Vent, known for its granite-rich soils with manganese deposits. This exceptional terroir imparts both structure and finesse to the Gamay grape, allowing for complex aromas, mineral tension, and excellent aging potential.

Tasting Notes

Deep ruby red color. The nose is intense and refined, with aromas of black cherry, wild berries, violets, and subtle hints of spice and graphite. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and silky, with polished tannins, vibrant acidity, and a long, mineral, and elegant finish.

A powerful and elegant Moulin-à-Vent from the La Rochelle climat — structured yet graceful, with beautiful aromatic depth and aging potential.

Pairing

Perfect with roasted lamb, duck breast, mushroom dishes, or aged cheeses like Comté or aged goat cheese.
