Domaine History

The Alary family settled in Cairanne in 1692, and ten generations developed the estate around the Saint-Martin hillsides. Frédéric and François Alary took over in 1984. In 2020, the estate passed to the Abeille-Fabre family, owners of Château Mont-Redon, with the aim of continuing the domaine’s long-established work in Cairanne.

Terroir

Domaine Oratoire Saint-Martin covers 25 hectares entirely within Cairanne, with most vines on steep slopes around 200 metres above sea level in Saint-Martin, Les Douyes and Coustias. Réserve des Seigneurs 2021 draws on old vines from the lower and middle slopes, where clay-rich soils contribute structure and freshness.

Tasting Notes

Plum and red-fruit aromas open with stony, earthy nuances and a touch of blond tobacco. The palate is precise and lifted, with silky tannins and a peppery, liquorice-tinged finish.

An expressive, finely structured Cairanne that balances generous southern fruit with freshness and silky texture.

Pairing

Serve with slow-braised beef or mature hard cheeses. A short, taste-led aeration can help the wine open in the glass.
