Estate History

Domaine du Vieux Bourg is a multi-generational family estate located in Beaujolais, in the southern part of Burgundy. The domaine is committed to respecting its terroir and traditional winemaking craftsmanship, focusing on producing wines that authentically reflect the region’s diversity. They dedicate themselves to precise vineyard work and low-intervention vinification, particularly for their white wines made from Chardonnay, to highlight their purity and finesse.

Terroir

The Chardonnay vines grow within the walled vineyard of Clos du Vieux Bourg, on clay-limestone soils that benefit from optimal sun exposure and natural drainage. This unique microclimate contributes to the wine’s depth, freshness, and expressive minerality.

Tasting Notes

Bright pale gold color. The nose is elegant and lively, dominated by aromas of white flowers, ripe pear, a touch of citrus zest, and subtle hints of toasted almond or hazelnut. On the palate, the wine is round and well-structured, offering a smooth texture, vibrant acidity, and a clean, mineral-driven long finish.

Pairing

Ideal with seafood, oysters, grilled fish, creamy poultry dishes (like chicken or turkey), or soft cheeses such as Brie and Saint-Marcellin.
