Domaine History
Founded in 1864, Vega Sicilia is Spain’s most iconic estate and a benchmark for Ribera del Duero. Known for its commitment to excellence and long aging processes, Vega Sicilia produces wines of great complexity, balance, and elegance, with Único being the flagship cuvée representing the pinnacle of their philosophy.
Terroir
The estate’s vineyards are situated along the Duero River on clay-limestone soils with excellent drainage. The combination of continental climate with significant temperature variations between day and night promotes slow ripening, resulting in structured wines with deep aromatic profiles.
Winemaking
Único 2011 underwent an exceptionally long aging process: 10 years of maturation, including time in French and American oak barrels of various sizes, followed by bottle aging. This slow, meticulous process ensures the wine’s harmony, depth, and longevity.
Tasting Notes

The palate is rich, silky, and layered, with velvety tannins, vibrant acidity, and a long, persistent finish marked by finesse and freshness.
An iconic, age-worthy red of remarkable elegance, complexity, and balance—designed for decades of aging.
Pairing
Perfect with roasted lamb, venison, aged beef, truffle dishes, or mature cheeses like Comté.
