Estate Overview

**Speri Viticoltori**, a historic family estate in the heart of **Valpolicella Classica**, has been producing wines since 1874. Dedicated to traditional methods and organic viticulture, the Speri family focuses exclusively on estate-grown fruit, crafting authentic wines that express the richness and identity of the Valpolicella terroir. The **Ripasso Classico Superiore 2018** represents the estate’s expertise in this traditional technique, offering depth, elegance, and balance.

Terroir

The vineyards are located on the hills of **Valpolicella Classica**, planted on **limestone and clay soils** with excellent drainage. The unique microclimate of the region, combined with careful vineyard management, supports healthy ripening and concentration, enhancing the aromatic complexity and structure of the grapes.

Winemaking

The **Ripasso** method involves refermenting the Valpolicella wine on the lees of Amarone, enriching the wine with additional aromas, texture, and complexity. Fermentation is followed by aging in large Slavonian oak barrels for **12 months**, then bottle refinement. This traditional process creates a harmonious balance between fruit, structure, and elegance.

Tasting Notes

Deep ruby red color. The nose is **intense and complex**, with aromas of **ripe cherries, plums**, and **spices**, followed by hints of **dried herbs and cocoa**. On the palate, the wine is **velvety and well-structured**, with balanced tannins, bright acidity, and a long, persistent finish. The **2018 vintage** delivers richness and finesse, characteristic of traditional Ripasso style.

A rich and elegant Ripasso—complex, smooth, and well-balanced, showcasing the tradition and craftsmanship of the Speri family in Valpolicella Classica.
