Estate History

Maison Aegerter, founded in 1988 by Jean-Luc Aegerter and now led by his son Paul, is renowned for producing elegant, terroir-driven wines from Burgundy’s most prestigious vineyards. The **Pommard 1er Cru “Les Arvelets”** is a fine example of the estate’s work with Pinot Noir, expressing both the power and finesse of this iconic Côte de Beaune appellation.

Terroir

Located at the southern edge of the Pommard appellation, **”Les Arvelets”** Premier Cru benefits from clay-limestone soils and excellent sun exposure. These conditions provide the structure and intensity typical of Pommard while preserving elegance and aromatic complexity, especially in the balanced 2016 vintage.

Tasting Notes

Deep ruby red color. The nose is expressive and complex, with aromas of black cherry, raspberry, violet, and subtle hints of earth, leather, and sweet spices. On the palate, the wine is structured yet refined, with silky tannins, fresh acidity, and a long, elegant, and mineral finish.

A powerful and elegant Pommard Premier Cru — showcasing balance, depth, and aromatic complexity with great aging potential.

Pairing

Perfect with roasted lamb, duck breast, game meats, or aged cheeses like Comté and Époisses.
