ドメーヌの歴史
Founded in 1902, Bodega Catena Zapata is a pioneer of high-altitude viticulture in Mendoza and one of Argentina’s most celebrated estates. Nicolás Catena Zapata, the winery’s flagship cuvée, is crafted from a selection of the best lots of Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec from the family’s top vineyards, reflecting the ultimate expression of power, elegance, and terroir.
テロワール
The grapes are sourced from high-altitude vineyards in Mendoza, including the renowned Agrelo, Altamira, and Gualtallary sites, situated between 900 and 1,500 meters above sea level. The combination of intense sunlight, cool mountain breezes, and well-drained alluvial soils contributes to the wine’s depth, freshness, and aromatic complexity.
醸造(じょうぞう)
Hand-harvested and carefully selected, the Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec lots are fermented separately at controlled temperatures. The wine undergoes aging for approximately 24 months in French oak barrels, primarily new, followed by further bottle aging to ensure harmony, structure, and longevity.
テイスティングノート
Dark, rich, and polished, the 2003 Nicolás Catena Zapata reveals layered aromas of sweet dark cherry, plum, and currant, enhanced by notes of smoky bacon, dark licorice, and molten chocolate. The palate is plush and exotic, with a long, lingering finish where fig sauce and mocha nuances elegantly persist. A wine of remarkable balance between power, complexity, and refinement—crafted for long aging.
An iconic Argentine blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec—dark, plush, and layered, with silky tannins and an opulent, lingering finish.
ペアリング
Perfect with grilled ribeye, roast lamb, braised beef short ribs, or aged cheeses like Manchego and Parmigiano Reggiano.
