Estate History

Maison Aegerter, founded in 1988 by Jean-Luc Aegerter and now led by his son Paul, is celebrated for its refined, terroir-driven wines from Burgundy’s finest appellations. The **Clos Vougeot Grand Cru**, from one of Burgundy’s most historic and prestigious walled vineyards, delivers an expression of Pinot Noir that combines power, structure, and finesse.

Terroir

Located at the heart of the Côte de Nuits between Vosne-Romanée and Chambolle-Musigny, **Clos Vougeot** is a single walled vineyard (clos) covering over 50 hectares with diverse soil profiles. The upper slopes provide finesse and minerality, while the lower slopes offer richness and power. This diversity contributes to the wine’s complexity and aging potential.

Tasting Notes

Deep ruby red color. The nose is intense and complex, revealing aromas of black cherry, blackberry, violet, earth, and sweet spices such as clove and nutmeg. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and structured, with firm but silky tannins, balanced acidity, and a long, persistent, mineral-driven finish.

A powerful and elegant Clos Vougeot Grand Cru — showcasing depth, structure, and harmony, with great aging potential.

Pairing

Perfect with roasted duck, beef Wellington, lamb shoulder, or aged cheeses like Comté and Époisses.
