Castille Tradicion de Aresan Tempranillo – Cabernet Sauvignon – Petit Verdot 2020

NT$850

Deep ruby in colour. Aromas is elegant & subtle and is showing some lovely tertiary characters such as dried blueberry, leather, cedar, tobacco leaf, cured meat-like savouriness, wet leaf, forest floor, as well as black cherry, black berry, black currant, plum, mulberry, tea leaf, toast, wood smoke and dried herbs. Palate is fairly powerful and full-bodied, accompanying with plenty of toast, tobacco leaf, cacao, dark chocolate, spices (particularly licorice and cinnamon stick) and mocha coffee. Firm structure with loads of mouth-watering tannin. Finish is delicate and gentle with cedar, vanilla bean, wood toast and a trace of sweet berry fruits. Extremely low yield (20 to 25 hl/ha – where some of the most well-known Burgundy Grand Crus is around 40 hl/ha ) is one of the reasons for its outstanding quality, as well as having similar terroir as the famous Châteauneuf-du-Pape, where the top soil is covered with pebbles (one of the key factors to fully ripens Mourvèdre and Syrah).
