Estate History

Founded in 1270, the **Hospices de Nuits-Saint-Georges** is one of Burgundy’s oldest charitable wine estates, known for producing exceptional cuvées auctioned each year for charity. This **”Les Champs Chenys” Cuvée Irène Noblet 2020**, acquired by **Vavin** and aged by the renowned house **Albert Bichot**, reflects the expertise of one of Burgundy’s most respected négociants-éleveurs, bringing out the full potential of this prestigious Premier Cru terroir.

Terroir

The **”Les Champs Chenys”** vineyard lies at the northern edge of Nuits-Saint-Georges on well-drained clay-limestone soils. This terroir is known for producing Pinot Noir with great aromatic purity, structure, and finesse — characteristics further enhanced by careful vinification and élevage by Albert Bichot.

Tasting Notes

Deep ruby red with purple highlights. The nose is expressive and complex, with notes of black cherry, raspberry, violet, and fine spice. On the palate, the wine reveals power and elegance, with silky tannins, vibrant acidity, and a long, precise, mineral-driven finish. The large Jeroboam format ensures optimal aging and development of complexity over time.

An elegant and structured Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru — a rare Jeroboam, elevated by Albert Bichot and exclusively acquired by Vavin.

Pairing

Ideal with duck breast, lamb shoulder, venison stew, or aged cheeses like Époisses and Comté. A perfect choice for grand occasions and long-term cellaring.
