Histoire du Domaine
Charles Frey is a family-owned estate located in Dambach-la-Ville, Alsace, fully committed to organic and biodynamic farming. The domaine produces expressive wines that reflect the purity of their terroir. The cuvée “Blettig” refers to the local Alsatian term for overripe grapes, harvested late to achieve additional richness and aromatic intensity.
Terroir
Grown on granitic soils around Dambach-la-Ville, the Sylvaner vines benefit from good drainage and optimal sun exposure. The late harvest of slightly overripe grapes (blettig) allows for a fuller expression of Sylvaner, adding texture, complexity, and aromatic depth while preserving freshness.
Notes de dégustation
Bright pale yellow color. The nose is delicate yet expressive, with notes of white peach, pear, citrus, and floral hints, along with subtle herbal nuances. On the palate, the wine is round and supple, with juicy fruit, balanced acidity, and a smooth, fresh finish.
An elegant and aromatic Sylvaner — richer than classic styles thanks to the late harvest, offering both freshness and depth.
Accords mets-vins
Perfect with asparagus dishes, seafood, smoked fish, light charcuterie, or goat cheese.
