Storia della tenuta

Founded in 1895 by ampelographer Chrétien Oberlin, Domaine Viticole de la Ville de Colmar is rooted in the heart of the Alsace vineyards. The estate works more than 28 hectares of its own vineyards, including the 14-hectare Clos Saint-Jacques near the cellars and the vineyards of the Hospices Civils Louis Pasteur de Colmar.

Terroir

Around Colmar and the surrounding villages, the domaine draws on a varied mosaic of Alsace soils and vineyard exposures. The shelter of the Vosges and Colmar’s notably dry microclimate favour ripeness while preserving the freshness, finesse and character associated with the region’s wines.

Note di degustazione

Pale yellow with bright green highlights. The refined nose brings together lemon, lemongrass and grapefruit with peach, pear, stewed fruit and delicate white-flower notes. The palate is precise and energetic, driven by lasting freshness and a generous, citrus-toned mid-palate.

A focused, expressive Riesling whose lively acidity carries its citrus and floral character from the first sip to the finish.

Abbinamento

An excellent partner for fish, poultry and white meats, as well as goat’s- or sheep’s-milk cheeses.
