Estate History

Considered one of the true legends of **Châteauneuf-du-Pape**, **Henri Bonneau** crafted wines of unparalleled character and soul. The **”Réserve des Célestins”**, his most iconic cuvée, comes from old vines and embodies the philosophy of minimal intervention and extended aging. The 2016 vintage, one of the last crafted following Bonneau’s traditional methods, is renowned for its incredible balance, depth, and aging potential.

Terroir

Grown on the iconic **galets roulés** (rounded stones) and limestone-clay soils of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, these old vines benefit from excellent sun exposure and the cooling Mistral wind. The natural yields are very low, contributing to the wine’s exceptional concentration and complexity.

Tasting Notes

Deep garnet red color. The nose is complex and layered, revealing aromas of black cherry, raspberry liqueur, dried herbs, leather, garrigue, and earthy spices. On the palate, the wine is powerful yet graceful, with velvety tannins, superb freshness, and a long, persistent finish marked by notes of black fruit, licorice, and subtle floral hints.

An iconic Châteauneuf-du-Pape — intense, soulful, and beautifully complex, with exceptional aging potential. A masterpiece from one of the Rhône Valley’s greatest artisans.

Pairing

Ideal with slow-cooked lamb, beef daube Provençale, venison, or rich game dishes. Perfect for special occasions or as a meditation wine.
