Domaine History

« A new story in Beaujolais » — After the sale of “Vins Piron” in 2020, Dominique Piron, 14th generation of a historic winemaking family, launched **Vieux Bourg – Famille Piron**. Located at Clos du Vieux Bourg in Corcelles-en-Beaujolais, on the family’s ancestral vineyards, the estate continues to cultivate the prestigious terroirs of Morgon, Côte du Py, Chénas, Régnié, and Beaujolais Blanc. The domaine stands on a site full of history — a former village church and presbytery with roots dating back to the year 900 — carrying forward a legacy of passion and excellence.

Terroir

Produced from Gamay vines planted on clay-limestone soils in the Coteaux Bourguignons appellation. The vineyard’s location and exposure bring freshness, purity, and aromatic intensity to this fruit-forward and elegant wine.

Tasting Notes

Brilliant ruby red with purple hues. The nose is vibrant, offering notes of red cherries, raspberries, and floral hints of peony. On the palate, the wine is juicy and light, with silky tannins, crisp acidity, and a refreshing, fruit-driven finish.

A lively and easy-drinking red, showcasing the Gamay grape’s fruit purity and charm — a beautiful expression of the Coteaux Bourguignons.

Pairing

Perfect with charcuterie boards, grilled sausages, roast chicken, or vegetable quiches.
