Citrus, green apple, white flowers, and a touch of brioche lead to a vibrant, creamy palate and a clean, mineral finish. Elegant and uplifting, it’s a versatile sparkler that pairs beautifully with oysters, seafood, sushi, or light desserts, and excels as a refined aperitif.

Château du Cèdre is a pioneering, multi-generational estate in Cahors, renowned for its commitment to organic viticulture and producing elegant, terroir-driven Malbecs. The “Extra Libre” cuvée is a standout, representing the family’s dedication to natural winemaking with no added sulfites. This pure expression of 100% Malbec is grown on the high terraces of Cahors, where stony limestone soils and clay sublayers promote healthy vines and balanced ripening. This natural approach in both the vineyard and cellar enhances the wine’s intrinsic purity and vibrant aromatic expression.

The wine shows a deep ruby color. The nose is incredibly vibrant and pure, bursting with aromas of black cherries, blueberries, violets, and fresh herbs. On the palate, the wine is juicy and lively, featuring silky tannins and fresh acidity. The absence of added sulfites imparts a remarkable softness and energy, delivering a clean, fruit-forward finish. This is a modern, “free” interpretation of Cahors, perfect with grilled meats, charcuterie, or vegetable dishes, and best enjoyed slightly chilled.
