Estate History

Maison Aegerter, founded in 1988 by Jean-Luc Aegerter and now run by his son Paul, is well-known for producing expressive, terroir-driven wines across Burgundy. This **Meursault 2003** is a fine example of the estate’s dedication to showcasing the richness and elegance of Chardonnay from one of Burgundy’s most celebrated white wine villages.

Terroir

Meursault, located in the heart of the Côte de Beaune, benefits from clay-limestone soils that provide the ideal environment for Chardonnay to express both richness and minerality. The warm 2003 vintage brought extra concentration and ripeness, while the terroir preserved balance and freshness.

Tasting Notes

Deep golden yellow color, showing graceful maturity. The nose is rich and complex, with aromas of baked apple, pear, honey, toasted hazelnut, and buttery brioche. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and creamy, with smooth acidity, well-integrated oak, and a long, elegant, mineral-driven finish.

A beautifully aged Meursault — combining richness, smoothness, and freshness, with harmonious balance and aromatic depth.

Pairing

Perfect with lobster, scallops, creamy fish dishes, roasted poultry, or aged cheeses like Comté or Beaufort.
