Domaine History

Clos Bellane lies at 410 metres above Valréas, with east- and southeast-facing vineyards. The estate expanded into Vinsobres in 2020, adding nine hectares on the appellation’s high slopes. Its gravity-flow winery and naturally cool semi-underground cellars support a patient approach focused on balance, purity and finesse.

Terroir

Five hectares in the Saint Jacques sector combine Miocene marl, Pliocene pebbles and Alpine torrent conglomerates. Alpine winds cool the hillside vines; the blend brings together Grenache from 60-year-old vines and Syrah from 40-year-old vines.

Tasting Notes

Black fruit, olive and oriental spice are followed by graphite and floral notes. Rich yet fresh and saline, the palate is framed by broad, linear tannins and a persistent finish.

A generous but lifted Vinsobres, balancing dark fruit and spice with freshness, salinity and firm definition.

Pairing

Serve at approximately 16°C with grilled or braised red meat, lamb, game and mature cheese.
