Estate History

Domaine Les Grandes Vignes, located in Thouarcé in the Loire Valley (Anjou), is a historic family estate fully committed to organic and biodynamic viticulture since 1998. The Vaillant family embraces low-intervention winemaking to reveal the purest expression of their terroir, focusing on local grape varieties like Chenin Blanc.

Terroir

“La Varenne du Poirier” comes from a single plot of Chenin Blanc planted on schist soils, offering excellent drainage and minerality. The cool Loire climate, combined with biodynamic practices, allows for slow ripening, bringing balance between aromatic richness and bright acidity.

Tasting Notes

Golden yellow color. The nose is elegant and expressive, with aromas of white flowers, quince, pear, and a touch of honey. On the palate, the wine is structured and vibrant, with ripe fruit, mineral tension, and a long, precise, saline finish.

A pure and refined Chenin Blanc from Anjou — combining richness, freshness, and minerality with beautiful aging potential.

Pairing

Ideal with seafood, roasted poultry, creamy veal dishes, or aged goat cheese.
