Domaine History

Lupé-Cholet is a historic Burgundy négociant house with roots dating back to the early 20th century. Renowned for its deep knowledge of Burgundy terroirs, the domaine works closely with trusted growers to select high-quality grapes, crafting wines that express the elegance, precision, and authenticity of their appellations.

Terroir

Viré-Clessé is located in the Mâconnais, southern Burgundy, where Chardonnay thrives on limestone and clay soils. The gently sloping vineyards benefit from a temperate climate with good sun exposure, allowing grapes to ripen fully while maintaining freshness and mineral tension. This terroir gives the wine both richness and finesse.

Tasting Notes

Bright pale gold in color. The nose is refined and expressive, with aromas of white flowers, ripe pear, apple, and citrus zest, complemented by subtle hints of almond and wet stone. On the palate, the wine is well-balanced and elegant, offering a creamy texture supported by lively acidity and a long, mineral-driven finish.

A classic and polished Burgundy white, combining freshness, depth, and terroir character.

Pairing

Excellent with grilled fish, shellfish, roast chicken, creamy pasta, mushroom dishes, or soft to medium-aged cheeses. Ideal for both everyday enjoyment and more refined dining moments.
