História da vinícola
Located in **Puisseguin Saint-Émilion**, a satellite appellation of Saint-Émilion, **Château Soleil** has gained recognition for crafting elegant and well-structured wines with the classic Right Bank profile. Since its acquisition by the Castéja family (owners of Château Batailley and Trotte Vieille), the estate has benefited from significant investment in vineyard management and winemaking, ensuring consistent quality and refinement across vintages.
Terroir
The vineyards of Château Soleil are planted on clay-limestone soils, with excellent sun exposure (“Soleil” meaning “sun” in French), which enhances the ripening of the Merlot-dominant blend. The natural drainage and mineral-rich terroir contribute to the wine’s balance, freshness, and aromatic expression.
Vinificação
Grapes are hand-harvested and carefully sorted before fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine is aged for 12 to 18 months in French oak barrels, with a portion of new oak, enhancing structure, texture, and aromatic complexity while preserving the fruit’s vibrancy.
Notas de degustação
Deep ruby red with purple reflections. The nose offers expressive aromas of black cherries, plums, cassis, and violet, supported by hints of licorice, spice, and subtle toasty oak. On the palate, the wine is smooth and generous, with ripe tannins, well-balanced acidity, and flavors of dark fruit, mocha, and sweet spices. The finish is long, velvety, and elegant, reflecting the superb quality of the **2010 vintage**.
A beautifully structured Right Bank Bordeaux from a great vintage—rich, elegant, and ideal for aging, especially in Jeroboam format for special occasions.
Harmonização
Perfect with roasted lamb, duck breast, beef tenderloin, or aged cheeses like Saint-Nectaire and Comté.
