Château History

Founded in 1344, **Château Mont-Redon** is one of the largest and most historic estates in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. With vineyards situated on the famous plateau of rounded pebbles (“galets roulés”), the estate has built a reputation for crafting wines of power, balance, and elegance. Committed to meticulous vineyard work and precision winemaking, Mont-Redon expresses the full potential of this exceptional terroir.

Terroir

‘Le Plateau’ comes from vines planted on the iconic galets roulés of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, which store heat during the day and release it at night, helping the grapes to achieve full ripeness. These stony soils, combined with excellent sun exposure and the influence of the Mistral wind, provide ideal conditions for concentration, complexity, and balance in the blend of Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre.

Tasting Notes

Deep garnet red with ruby reflections. The nose is rich and complex, revealing aromas of black cherry, blackberry, licorice, and garrigue herbs, with touches of spice and leather. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and structured, with velvety tannins, fresh acidity, and a long, powerful, and elegant finish.

A majestic and refined Châteauneuf-du-Pape, offering depth, aromatic complexity, and great aging potential — the signature of Mont-Redon’s finest terroirs.

Pairing

Perfect with roast lamb, grilled beef, game dishes, or aged cheeses.
