Domaine History

The Mont-Redon vineyard was documented in 1344, when it belonged to the Episcopal see. Henri Plantin acquired the 2.5-hectare estate in 1923 and began planting the plateau of rolled pebbles; today Château Mont-Redon remains with his family heirs.

Terroir

‘Le Plateau’ comes from vines planted on the iconic galets roulés of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, which store heat during the day and release it at night, helping the grapes to achieve full ripeness. These stony soils, combined with excellent sun exposure and the influence of the Mistral wind, provide ideal conditions for concentration, complexity, and balance in the blend of Grenache Noir and Syrah.

Tasting Notes

Deep garnet red with ruby reflections. The nose is rich and complex, revealing aromas of black cherry, blackberry, licorice, and garrigue herbs, with touches of spice and leather. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and structured, with velvety tannins, fresh acidity, and a long, powerful, and elegant finish.

A majestic and refined Châteauneuf-du-Pape, offering depth, aromatic complexity, and great aging potential — the signature of Mont-Redon’s finest terroirs.

Pairing

Perfect with roast lamb, grilled beef, game dishes, or aged cheeses.
