Estate History
Maison Aegerter, established in 1988 by Jean-Luc Aegerter and now led by his son Paul, is known for producing terroir-focused wines from Burgundy’s most prestigious appellations. The **Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru** is one of the estate’s finest expressions of Pinot Noir, sourced from one of Gevrey-Chambertin’s most celebrated Grand Cru vineyards, where charm, power, and elegance meet in perfect harmony.
Terroir
Located in the southern part of the Gevrey-Chambertin Grand Cru zone, **Charmes-Chambertin** benefits from clay-limestone soils with excellent drainage and gentle slopes. This terroir allows Pinot Noir to develop great aromatic intensity, silky tannins, and refined structure while preserving freshness and balance.
Tasting Notes
Deep ruby red color. The nose is complex and elegant, with aromas of ripe black cherry, raspberry, violet, forest floor, and subtle spicy notes of clove and licorice. On the palate, the wine is powerful yet silky, with fine-grained tannins, bright acidity, and a long, layered finish marked by mineral freshness and spicy undertones.
A magnificent Grand Cru Pinot Noir — combining richness, refinement, and aging potential, true to the signature style of Charmes-Chambertin.
Pairing
Perfect with roasted duck, venison, beef Wellington, or aged cheeses like Époisses or Comté.
