Château de la Chaize Côte de Brouilly 2021

NT$1,190

Coming from one of the ten Beaujolais crus named “Côte de Brouilly”, wines produced here are generally more concentrated in comparison to its neighboring cru “Brouilly” due to its higher altitude in Mount Brouilly. The wine is medium purple in colour with a touch of ruby rim. Aromas is energetic and vibrant with plenty of fresh red fruits (raspberry, redcurrant and cranberry), strawberry, sour cherry, and is accompanied by cassis leaf, fresh sweet herbs and a hint of sweet spice (nutmeg in particular). Palate is elegant and bright with notes of fresh mix berry fruit salad, red plum, touch of mint and wood spice. Silky tannin with fresh berry fruit-like crispiness. Strawberry compote, vanilla bean and a beautiful red floral note on the finish. This is a bottle of well-balanced Beaujolais cru with excellent freshness. 2021 is a relatively difficult vintage for Beaujolais with cooler and drier weather than the previous vintage, which is well reflected on its characters.
