Aubert & Mathieu produces Eugénie, an AOP Minervois red wine from Languedoc-Roussillon, France.

Terroir

Eugénie comes from the Minervois appellation in Languedoc-Roussillon. The approved exact-vintage technical sheet does not state a more precise soil or vineyard description.

Winemaking

The Mourvèdre and Syrah undergo traditional vinification, while the Carignan is vinified by carbonic maceration. The wine is aged for 12 months in concrete vats.

Tasting Notes

The 2020 vintage has a deep plum-ruby colour and a delicately aromatic nose with hints of spice. The palate is silky and fluid, led by cherry jam with a touch of menthol that adds freshness.

A silky Minervois blend with cherry-jam fruit, gentle spice and a fresh menthol note.

Pairing

Pair with rillettes, chicken satay or pasta Bolognese.
