Estate History

Maison Aegerter, founded in 1988 by Jean-Luc Aegerter and now run by his son Paul, is known for its elegant and terroir-driven Burgundy wines. The **Clos Vougeot Grand Cru** represents one of the estate’s most prestigious cuvées, sourced from the historic walled vineyard (“clos”) at the heart of the Côte de Nuits — a symbol of Burgundy’s viticultural heritage and excellence.

Terroir

Situated between Vosne-Romanée and Chambolle-Musigny, the **Clos Vougeot Grand Cru** covers a variety of soil types from limestone and marl on the upper slopes to richer clay at the base. This terroir diversity brings structure, power, and elegance to the Pinot Noir, allowing the wine to develop complexity and superb aging potential.

Tasting Notes

Deep garnet color with brick reflections, showing graceful maturity. The nose is intense and complex, with aromas of stewed cherry, raspberry, leather, undergrowth, truffle, and soft spices. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and silky, with smooth tannins, balanced acidity, and a long, earthy, and spicy finish.

A beautifully evolved Clos Vougeot Grand Cru — powerful and elegant, with depth, harmony, and remarkable aging grace.

Pairing

Ideal with roasted duck, venison, beef filet with mushrooms, or aged cheeses like Comté or Époisses.
